Barry M Burgundy Croc

For some reason, my previous posts about the Barry M Croc Effects polish are some of my highest viewed posts! (You can see them here and here.) I'm not sure why. Anyway, I really like the black Croc Effects, but I have always wished that it was available in other colours, because the black does give a dark look overall, even with a bright colour underneath, and I really do prefer a brighter nail varnish.

There now is another colour, hurrah!  This is Barry M Burgundy Croc Effects. It's exactly the same as the black one, but in a dark reddish colour. It's actually a very similar colour to Barry M Raspberry, although Raspberry leans slightly more pink, where Burgundy Croc leans slightly more red. The Croc Effects is a thin, almost watery consistency, and needs to be applied in a light coat over semi-damp polish.

This is Burgundy Croc Effects over Sephora's I'm a Rich Girl.  Looking back at my previous Croc posts, this has cracked very differently to my other black croc, but I still like it a lot. I think it's something I will wear more than the black croc, because I do prefer less dark nails.

Burgundy Croc Effects is available from Superdrug and Boots for £3.99, and from Barry M online.

  2. Oh god, this is gorgeous! I kinda got bored with all the black crackles and shatters for a while. Glad they've seen sense :)

    1. It's odd, because I'm not a huge fan of crackle, as I dislike how messy it is. But I really like the croc, and especially in this colour.

  3. Does it dry better than the black does? I always found I had to get a hairdryer on mine to make it do its thing!

    1. I would say it's much the same. But I had no problem with the black one drying. Having said that, it does like heat, and I tend to have quite warm hands. But I do often use a hot cup of tea (just hold the cup) as a means of drying my nails.

  4. That's a great colour combination. I haven't seen the croc one anywhere near me, just more crackles, and I'm not the world's biggest fan.

    1. I agree, not a fan of crackle. Do you want me to pick you up a burgundy?

    2. I may take you up on that, I'm out & about over the weekend so I'll see if I can find one in another branch first.

(Oh, I thought I'd found you Pros & Bronze today in TKMaxx, but someone had swapped it out of the set & replaced it with something rubbish. Booo)

    3. Ok, well let me know!

Ooh Pros and Bronze looks nice! Funnily enough I ALMOST swapped a pack round in TKMaxx the other day, but decided it wouldn't be ethical. They had a Fiercely Fiona and something rubbish in one pack, and WHo the Shrek are You and something rubbish in the other. I wish I'd just bought both now.

    4. Everyone swaps in TKMaxx, I swapped the Fiercely Fiona's about, because I really didn't need two bottles of it, (and therefore made a pack with 3 bottles instead!) If they haven't put them in sealed boxes, they're asking for it.

I didn't find burgundy croc, but I did find Bourjois red python, which looks very similar, so I'll be giving that a go as soon as I can bear to take off my Sensique Sky Over Silk Road. (Oh and a spare original Gosh Holo for 99p!)
