China Glaze Def Defying - with black and studs

Today I'm wearing China Glaze Def Defying (I've worn it before as a French tip, see here) with some black and some studs. First I used two coats of Def Defying. There's something at once hideous and gorgeous about this colour, I feel. I love it, although something tells me I shouldn't.  Anyway, it's a lovely smooth application, although a touch sheer at two coats. If I was wearing this alone I'd add a third coat for good measure.

Then I taped off the middles of the nails and added my absolute favourite black creme, Rimmel Black Out. I love this, it's so opaque and glossy and smooth. My bottle is more than half empty now, I think it's time for a back-up!

Then to finish I added a few black stud rhinestones along the middles of the nails, stuck on with topcoat (Seche Vite as ever) and topped it all off with another coat of Seche. The rhinestones aren't as sparkly as coloured ones, but they do still catch the light and shimmer a bit.

I know this isn't the... prettiest of looks! I can't really make up my mind about it! Even though I know it looks nothing like a dalek, it's still giving me dalek vibes, which makes me happy.

  1. It's the crazy multicoloured Daleks from, err, whenever they were. Very very cool.

(I'd be slightly terrified of inviting Daleks onto my nails, they may suddenly turn evil when I wasn't expecting it)

    1. There were some brightly coloured daleks in the Pertwee era... I don't recall any green ones, but there might have been.

My nails haven't attacked anyone yet, I am pleased to report.

    2. I was thinking the New Dalek Paradigm (as you know I only really know 11), which didn't have a green, but really should've done.

    3. Oh them! AKA the next Christmas toy to be released... They were disappointing.
