Barry M Huckleberry and Freehand Pink Roses

I started this design with a base of Barry M Huckleberry, a very pretty pale blue from the newest releases of the Gelly range.

This is three very thin coats of Hucklberry. It probably would have been easier with two thicker coats, but after my experience with the Models Own Hypergels, I'm a bit apprehensive that thicker coats won't dry, so I did three coats. The first coat was quite streaky, but it evened out after the third and looks so pretty and delicate!

I then used a small nail art brush (part of this set from the Born Pretty Store) and Barry M Rose Hip (pale pink) and Pink Punch (bright pink) to freehand on some roses. I used Barry M Sugar Apple (pale green) and MoYou London Spring Green (brighter green) for some leaf details. I then added topcoat over everything.

I was so pleased with these! I haven't don't freehand nail art in ages, but I was really happy with how these came out! The Barry M Gellys are so good - the new colours are really pretty, and they're all really good for this sort of nail art, because the formula is a bit thicker and smoother than some polishes.

You may notice that I've cut my nails short since my last post. I'm off on holiday in the States in a few days, and we'll be outdoorsy and adventurous, so they need to be shorter or they'll just get in the way!

    1. Thanks! Just the ones I used here - the pastel blue, green and pink, and the bright pink. I may have to go back and get Coconut though.

    2. Don't get Olive. Looks great in the bottle, but gave me lobster hands.

  4. I absolutely love these!
I would quite happily wear roses on my nails all the time if I didn't do so many challenges!!
