Rather than wearing it on its own, I decided to do tips only. This is one coat of Sugar House Lane over a base of two coats of Essie's Sand Tropez.
Sugar House Lane is a sheer nude base with black and white glitter. It dries rather matte, so I added topcoat for a bit more shine.
I like this, but I'm not blown away by it. It reminds me of chocolate chip cookies, or maybe cookie dough ice cream.
Here is is in close up.
(Sugar House Lane is apparently in Newham, east London. It looks a bit grotty and industrial on Google Maps, but it's just round the corner from the Olympic stadium, so maybe it's a bit nicer these days. On second thoughts, I just saw it on the news - it's where the "slums" have been built for the Olympics' cleaners, and it looks horrendous, so no, they haven't jazzed it up. Nails Inc have however named a pretty nail varnish after it, so that's ok then.)
That does not look cupcake'ish in the least to me. But as a nail polish, it sure is pretty. =) Black glitter is getting more & more popular... which is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteI know! Maybe a strange cupcake with coffee choc sprinkles?
DeleteI'd eat a coffee cupcake with chocolate sprinkles! =)
DeleteYeah, I would too today.
DeleteThis is a really great idea, I like the combination. I received all 4 of the Nails Inc Sprinkles Collection for my birthday (lucky me!) but I'm not overly convinced by them, yet. This Sugar House Lane seems to be the easiest to wear, the colours in it are quite neutral and the black glitter is very unusual.
ReplyDeleteI think the pink one looks really pretty, but I already have Deborah Lippmann's Candy Shop so I couldn't justify another one.
DeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteThat is absolutely gorgeous. Cupcakes come in way too many colours at the moment, so a cappuccino cupcake (that's how it looks to me) is nothing out of the ordinary.
ReplyDeleteActually now you say it, it does look like the froth on a cappuccino.
DeleteI love this it looks so pretty! I see what you mean about Sugar House Lane looking like a cookie.
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think this one's growing on me - I wasn't overly keen at first but I'm starting to really like it.
DeleteI think it's lovely (sorry, only just come across this blog), especially as a nail tip, as shown in your pictures.
ReplyDeletethank you!
