One of my Christmas presents was a couple of wheels of multicoloured nail gemstones! I was very excited about using them for the first time. I couldn't decide on a colour, so I went for lots of them!
First I did a base coat of colour - these are Barry M Satsuma, Blood Orange, Blackberry and Cyan, and China Glaze Def Defying. Then using clear topcoat and a toothpick, I added the rhinestones, starting at the tip and working backwards.
I am so pleased with how these look! They're so shiny and sparkly, and keep catching the light as I move my hands. They weren't nearly as fiddly to apply as I expected, and it didn't take more than about half an hour.
I've since added more topcoat over the stones to see if it will hold them on the nails a little longer. So far I've been wearing these for a few hours, and have been typing and making tea without losing any, so I'm hopeful!
This looks epic! I don't know if I have the patience to try this out myself though.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I thought the same - but actually it didn't take nearly as long as I expected. Hence the slight messiness in places I'm sure!
DeleteYou're way more efficient than me. I managed one accent nail for the Christmas party, and that took me the best part of an hour. That said, it was very early in the morning & I couldn't quite see straight yet. The green is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteYes, I did require a magnifying glass for some of it. My eyes aren't what they were.
DeleteI really like the green, far more than I thought I would.
Wow! Dazzletastic! You have way more patience than I would ever have! They look great!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I feel as though I ought to be taking them out somewhere now. I'm not though.
DeleteThey are amazing! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteO my gosh these look amazing!
ReplyDeleteDx
Thanks! I was quite pleased with how they turned out.
DeleteJust recently started following you after seeing you mentioned on Grocery Gems. I am lucky enough to have a mother in law who is a nail tech so she has got me obsessed with nails too. I always love seeing other people's creations, these look so pretty!
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you!
DeleteI hope you get lots of free manicures! I am seriously considering doing a nail tech course, mostly so that I can get a trades discount in various suppliers...
Yes I do get quite a few freebies and I am also her guinea pig for any new things she is experimenting with which is just fine by me lol. You should do a course, like you say the discounts would come in handy although I think my mother in law finds ebay is just as cheap sometimes.
DeleteLucky!
DeleteYes, I was thinking it would be nice to learn lots of new things and get ideas. I'm not sure I fancy touching other people's hands though...
The green is lovely! I like doing french tips using rhinestones on green polish. Its the only use I can really find for the colour green!
ReplyDeleteThanks! I hadn't thought of using rhinestones to make French tips, that's a good idea, thanks!
DeleteWow! They look amazing. They remind me of old fashioned fruit gums when they had the nobbly bits.
ReplyDelete(I still haven't got an account yet)
Get an account! Then you can follow me. I know what you mean about nobbly bits, I've always been a fan.
DeleteSo trying this!
ReplyDeleteMake sure you let us know how it goes!
