I've noticed recently that my blog views have been really increasing dramatically, and that I've picked up quite a few new followers. So if that's you - hello! *waves*
Today's post is a little dull I'm afraid. This is Essie - For the Twill of It. I bought this last week when I saw it looking fantastic in a shop. I should have looked at it online before I bought it, but oh well!
For the Twill of It is a grey-silver polish with a purple-blue-green duochrome. However, I'm just a bit unimpressed with this on the nail.
Application is ok, although the first coat is a bit patchy and streaky, and I noticed quite a few bubbles on the second coat (although Seche Vite sorted this out). The duochrome effect just isn't very visible in real life, and is even harder to capture on camera.
I realised that this polish was displayed in a store with lots of bright white lights shining at the bottles from the sides, which I think made it look more exciting than it is. I think it's nice, but it isn't amazing, and there are other far better duochromes out there, in my opinion.
I fancied this but already have Peace & Love & OPI and think it's quite similar. Spent ages in the shop looking at it and decided against buying it!
ReplyDeleteI don't think you're missing anything to be honest!
DeleteI'd seen this in an Essie ad in a mag and thought it looked awesome, shame it's not so great IRL
ReplyDeleteIt's not bad - I mean, it's quite pretty. But it's just not that special in my opinion. Oh well.
