Orange-Red Secret Thermal Stamping

I've done this sort of look a couple of times now, and it's become one of my favourite ways to play with stamping. As you know, I love a nice thermal polish, so today I've used one with a bit of a twist.

This is two coats of Ferity MissMatch Red Temptation, which changes from a bright yellowy orange when warm to a bright scarlet red when cold. I wore this on its own today, and it mostly appeared yellow with red tips for me.  Then tonight I've stamped over it to create a sort of secret stamping design.

I used an orangey red polish, Barry M Blood Orange, which matches the cold colour of the Ferity thermal. I used the MoYou London Pro XL 06 plate again, one of my favourites.

When cold, the stamping is almost invisible, but when it warms up, the design appears.

I love this kind of look, and I do love reds and oranges.

Magic Colour Changing Nails! Ruby Wing & Ferity

Today is really sunny! I have a friend coming round later and not much time for fancy nail art at all, but I did want to take advantage of the sun and use some of my UV sensitive colour changing polishes!

This is three coats of Ferity Sun Vision Angel Kiss, with Ruby Wing Rose on my ring finger. As you can see, Angel Kiss is a very pale pink, practically nude colour when it's indoors. Rose is a pretty silvery white glitter with a very slightly pink base.

Take them outside however... and there is quite a dramatic change!

Look at this! Angel Kiss turns to a pretty mid-shade of pink, and Rose goes bananas and turns a vivid raspberry pink. I have spend the last hour walking in and out of shade and waving my fingers around sunbeams. The colour change is almost instant, and changes back and forth easily.

I could have cleaned up a bit better! Because I put these on indoors I couldn't spot any areas needing cleanup! Next time, I'll paint outside I think.

Pink to Red Thermal Polish with Gold Flames Stamping

I've posted about this polish before - it's Ferity MissMatch Sizzling Red thermal polish which changes from pale translucent pink when warm to a bright jelly red when cold. I wore this for a day on its own and then I added some gold stamping using Barry M Gold Foil and MoYou London stamping plate Rockstar 01.

This was 2 coats of the Ferity polish. I am in LOVE with their colour changing range!

The Barry M foils really are so good for stamping!

I've been feeling a bit lacking in nail inspiration recently, but I do like this look.

Ferity Sizzling Red Thermal Polish

Just a quick post tonight with another Ferity MissMatch temperature sensitive polish. This is Sizzling Red, a pink-red thermal polish. It's pink when warm, and bright red when cold.

This is three coats, with topcoat.

Sizzling Red is an interesting one - at one coat, the pink when warm is almost clear. It's certainly almost invisible, which makes the transition to bright red when cold really dramatic. At two coats, the warm parts of the nail are translucent pale pink, very much like a sheer pink tinted polish. Three coats is obviously a little more opaque, although the colour is still translucent.

I love the effect on this one! It's so pretty, I think. The formula is very like the other Ferity polishes I've tried - a bit smelly, not perfect, but really REALLY effective.

I really do love these polishes! I think I have almost the entire collection now!

Ferity Miss Match Red Temptation

Oh I do love a temperature-sensitive polish! The best ones I've tried so far are the Ferity Miss Match ones, which are tiny, cute bottles with lids shaped like pencils. I believe they're a Russian (or perhaps Polish) brand, but I buy them on Amazon from a UK seller, who charges under £2.50 a go, which I think is a pretty good deal. I have been after the red one for a while, and it was finally back in stock this week!

This is Red Temptation, two coats, with topcoat.

This is a lovely bright tomato red when cold.  I really like this sort of shade of red - I have a LOT of red polish in my collection!

When warm, this is a juicy yellowy orange. The colour really looks like orange juice to me!

I'm not sure I like the effect when my entire nail is hot (as you can see, there's quite a bit of visible nail line), but I love the gradient effect from hot to cold - it reminds me of a tequila sunrise!

The formual on these polishes isn't great - they smell bad, and they're quite gloopy, so they can be a bit lumpy and do tend to need Seche Vite to smooth it out. The brushes are also a bit fiddly - the pencil cap is a bit small to hold, and the brush is small. But having said all that - I LOVE these polishes. The colour change is really strong and effective, and they make me happy to sit and watch the change. And there's a huge range of colours too.

I mean, who doesn't want nails that look like a sunset?

Thermal Purple with Iridescent Topcoat AND Metallic Stamping

Today's design might as well have the kitchen sink in there!  I started with two coats of Ferity MissMatch Purple Passion, a fabulous pink to purple temperature sensitive polish which I reviewed here and here.

Not content with just the colour changing polish, I added a coat of China Glaze Travel in Colour, an iridescent topcoat from the 2013 Holiglaze collection.  It's so pretty! It adds a lovely shimmery sparkly effect.

I then stamped over that with a plaid design from the MoYou London Pro XL 01 plate, and Barry M Lilac Foil.

I'm pretty pleased with this one! The photo above is how it looks when cold - a lovely dark shimmery purple all over.  As it warms up, it gets bright pink, so that at normal room temperature, it's pink on the nail bed, and purple at the tips.
Do you like this look?

Sunflower decals & UV Colour Changing Polish

This weekend I've been playing with another set of Born Pretty Store decals, and unsurprisingly, I love these!  I find that this time of year, I'm longing for spring, for the longer days and some sunshine, and I want my nails to reflect this. Sunflowers are my absolute favourite flower of all time anyway, and to have them on my nails makes me very happy!

These decals are item #9330  in the Born Pretty Store. They usually cost $2.83 per pack (or $4.33 for both designs) but they are currently on sale for $0.99 each!  I don't know how long that price is going to last, but what a bargain!  I have both different designs. One pack is predominantly sunflowers, the other also has lovely cheerful gerberas.

Aren't they HAPPY looking?

I first wore these yesterday over China Glaze Keep Calm, Paint On. KCPO is a lovely pastel green, with a pretty shimmer. I find the application a bit tricky, to be honest, as it's a bit streaky and runny and tends to flood the cuticles easily. It's so pretty though!

I love this look!  The green and the flowers together look so springlike and pretty. I was going to leave these on for work on Monday, but then today - the sun came out!

It was bright sunshine, which I haven't seen in weeks. It immediately made me want to grab the Ferity sun-sensitive polish which has been sitting in my swatching pile for months quite some time, waiting for a sunny day.

This is two coats of Ferity Sizzling Peach, with topcoat. Application is a bit tricky, as the polish tends to lumpiness, but Seche Vite sorted that out.  This first photo is indoors, away from any sunlight. I don't love this colour - I am a fan of orange, but not so much of this frosty peachy shade.

This photo is indoors, in the bright sunlight through a window. The colour hasn't changed hugely, but it is brighter and more orange, less peachy. The shimmer is a lot more evident too.

I then took this outside. The sun is so low that it doesn't reach my garden - the window photos are upstairs!  But even though there was no direct sunlight on my nails, the colour change was quite obvious - it turned a much richer orangey peach colour, that I really like.

I then added the decals - and oh wow! I love this! It's more of a summer mani I suppose than a midwinter one, but I do so miss the warm weather and long daylight hours, so I don't care! When I wake up tomorrow on a grey, dark, miserable Monday, my nails will cheer me up!

I love these! The decals are really opaque so the colours are crisp and would show even over a darker base, and of course, they're so easy to use. I am a huge fan of water decals!

By the time I'd finished, the brief sunshine had gone, so the decal photos are indoors only. But fingers crossed, tomorrow will have at least some sunshine, so I'll be able to see the sunflowers over the changing polish.

You can buy these decals online at the Born Pretty Store, using my discount code for an even better price.  I bought the Ferity Sizzling Peach polish on Amazon UK, for £2.50, and the China Glaze was bought at a local beauty shop.

I received these decals for review purposes, but words and opinions are entirely my own. I do not receive anything if you use my discount code, although when it's been used ten times, BPS will let me host a giveaway for my readers! See my Disclosure page for more details.  I bought the polishes myself.

Ferity Purple Passion Colour Changing Polish + MoYou London Stamping

Today's polish is Ferity Miss Match Purple Passion with stamping from MoYou London Rockstar plate 01.

Purple Passion is a polish which changes from purple when cold to bright pink when hot.  I used the amplifier part of the stamp, which by itself is just a honeycomb design. I stamped with Barry M Lilac Foil.

One or two of my nails went a bit skew whiff, but overall, I'm pretty happy with this.

More Stamping Over Colour Changing Polish

I loved my last combination of temperature sensitive polish plus stamping so much, that I decided to do it again. This is another Ferity polish, Unbreakable, and the MoYou London snowflake plate again.

Unbreakable is considerably thicker than the other Ferity polishes I've tried. This was only two coats. However, the colour change is far less prominent than the other ones I've tried.

When cold, this is a really nice deep midnight blue, and fully opaque.

When hot, it's a paler, brighter blue, that also becomes more sheer. However, I found it had to be very hot to have this colour, and my hands are mostly showing the darker colour. I haven't really got the noticeable gradient or coloured tip effect I've had with the other shades.

I stamped using MoYou London Festive plate 02 and Barry M silver foil. I love that there are so many snowflakes on this plate of all different sizes and patterns.

I'm pretty pleased with how this came out!

What do you think?

Bora Bora - Colour Changing Polish + MoYou London Mother Nature

For my first nail design of the new year, I have another temperature-sensitive polish from Ferity MissMatch, and some stamping with the MoYou London Mother Nature plate 02.  First the polish!

As you know, I love colour changing polishes. This is three coats of Bora Bora, a lovely green, with topcoat. I bought this polish on Amazon for under £2.50. It's a little sheer, and takes a while to dry, but multiple coats and Seche Vite sorts that out.

When hot, it's a paler spring green, and when cold, a dark foresty green.

Getting cooler on the tips...

Fresh out from the cold tap...

getting warmer...

This is how it is most of the time in my house, warm nail beds and cool tips.

Not content to leave the polish like that, much as I love it, I decided to stamp over it. I got a MoYou London XL stamper for Christmas, and it's SO much better than the cheap poundshop one I was using before!

I decided to try out my new MoYou London Mother Nature plate 02 (love the typo on the plate! Not sure if it's clear on this photo, but is says "MOTHER NATURE PCOLLECTION") and stamp some birds and feathers over the green using Barry M Gold Foil.

I was thrilled with the results! I stamped some individual birds on three nails, and then used the peacock feather area of the design to stamp on the other two nails.

I really love how this looks!  The gold foil is perfect for stamping too, really clear and clean, and adds some shine to the nails too. I topcoated over everything once it was dry.

I like the combination of the colour changing base and the stamping over the top.

This one is with very cold hands...

And with room temperature hands.

I love this! I now want to try all sorts of foil stamping over colour changing polishes! What do you think of this look?

Ferity Miss Match - Black Mist

This is yet another of my temperature-sensitive colour changing polishes from Ferity. This is Black Mist, a grey-black changing polish. This is a bit of an odd one, and I'm not entirely sure whether I like it or not. The colour changing effect is really strong, but it's not the prettiest of polishes!
black mist 11
This is three coats, with topcoat. I used Seche Vite, which did make the tips shrink a bit. When cold, this is an opaque black. When hot, it's a sheer, pale grey.

Here it is cold, straight out from under the cold tap.

Here it is at its hottest:

And the tips immediately cooling down...

I do find these polishes fascinating, and I can't stop playing with them. However with this one, I felt as thought it made the tips of my nails look dirty, and the sheer grey wasn't the most flattering of colours, especially when my nails were mostly hot, with cold at the very tips.
