Baby Bellini & Fantasy Fire

Yesterday I wore Rimmel Baby Bellini to work, and it lasted really well. No chips or peels or anything. As it was still looking good, I added Max Factor Fantasy Fire, which I wore to work today.  These photos were taken after a full day's wear.

This is two coats of Fantasy Fire over two coats of Baby Bellini. You can see Baby Bellini on its own in Monday's post, which is here.  I've posted about Fantasy Fire before, where I've worn it over black, blue and various other colours (see here) but not over purple.

I absolutely love how this looks over purple! Baby Bellini was already quite shimmery, but Fantasy Fire adds a real boost of shimmery sparkles, and a firey red colour in certain lights and angles.

The first two photos are in bright direct light, but the second two show the combination in a low light - this was with my bedside lamp.

Milani - Blue Lightening + Fantasy Fire!

This is another of my American polishes.  This is Milani's Blue Lightening. I think someone at Milani can't spell! I'm assuming that they meant 'lightning', as the others in the range also have speedy names (Purple Rush, Racy Green).

This is another of the fast dry one coat range. One coat probably would have done, but I did two anyway, just because I felt like it.

Anyway, isn't this just the BLUEST polish ever? I mean - look how BLUE it is!  Wowsers!

It's a gorgeous GORGEOUS deep blue, full of sparkly glass fleck glitter. There's a definite purple duochrome flash in the bottle, but it doesn't show on the nail at all. I don't care though, it's still beautiful!

Despite this being gorgeous, after a day I thought I'd try something else. So I added a coat of Max Factor's Fantasy Fire. Ohhhh yes! Fantasy Fire is so versatile, I haven't found a colour it doesn't suit yet.

17 - Fury

This is 17's "Fast Finish" polish, called Fury.

I haven't bought any 17 polishes before, apart from the magnetic ones I bought recently that were my first. I bought this one because I love gold nail varnish, and this was a different sort of gold that I hadn't seen elsewhere before.

I really like the colour. It's a nice rich, warm browny gold, and has a lovely shine to it.

However, I hated the application. The brush strokes were really visible, especially on the first coat. The second coat helped, but the polish was also quite thick and gloopy, and was quite uneven. Seche Vite topcoat did help, but it's still not particularly even on the nails. It also didn't wear particularly well. I put this on last night, and wore it to work today, before I took these photos, and it is wearing on the tips already.

So, overall - I was a bit disappointed. Their magnetic polishes were really good, but this one not so much. Having said that, it's dead cheap, so I suppose it's to be expected.

I wore it with my Fantasy Fire ring though, and I thought they went really well together. The ring reminds me of Coca Cola! It's mostly a firey goldy brown colour, but turns bluey-green in certain lights, especially in natural light.

Max Factor - Fantasy Fire, more colours!

After posting Max Factor's Fantasy Fire yesterday, showing mainly purpley gold colours in indoor light, today the sun is shining, and my nails suddenly look green!

Max Factor - Fantasy Fire

Being rather bored with Dusky Mauve, I decided to add another new purchase, Max Factor's Fantasy Fire.   This seems to be the latest 'it' colour - everyone seems to be blogging about it at the moment!

This colour is a lovely sheer dark purple jelly, with shimmery particles that seem to change colour between bright pinky purple, bright gold, dark green, and an orangey fire colour, depending on what's underneath, and what the light's like.

I tried it over black earlier to make this, which will be a ring:

Tonight I added it over the top of my Barry M Dusky Mauve, and it looks like this:

It looks completely different to the way it looks over black on the glass cabochon!

Max Factor's mini polishes are available in Boots and Superdrug, and in some large supermarkets too. I got mine in a 3 for 2 deal.

I love the way this looks! It's so shimmery and different, and the colours switch so much as you move your fingers in the light. I want to try this over all sorts of different colours just to see what happens. It's only a tiny bottle though, so I don't want to waste it!
