Ruby Wing Crowd Surf - with Gold Stamping

I got this polish for my birthday last month from a friend who KNOWS ME WELL! I've worn it a few times, but realised I'd never actually got round to blogging about it.  I wore this for a day on its own this time but forgot to take a photo.

Crowd Surf is a bright pinky purple creme that dries with a satin finish. It's a lovely quality - very smooth and even and pigmented, and applies really well. It is meant to change colour in the sunshine, but I've not been able to get much colour change out of this. But then, it is nearly November and I haven't been outside in daylight!

This is two coats of Crowd Surf. I've then stamped over it using one my yet-another new plates from MoYou London, Pro XL 14, and Barry M Gold Foil.

I love this design - it's so pretty!  I reckon this design is really versatile. You could make so many different looks with different colour combinations.

Crowd Surf is a lovely colour even without the colour changing effect. It's quite opaque, so I wonder whether actually I could stamp with it?

I'm really pleased with how these came out!

Models Own Shades & Essence Glitz and Glam

Today I realised that I had still never worn the other Models Own Polish for Tans that I bought, Shades. I thought it was about time to remedy that.

This is two coats of Shades, with no topcoat.

I found this really difficult to photograph! It's a neon coral pink, but the photos look more orange than it really is I think. It definitely leans pinker than this.

It's a lovely colour though; I really like it.

And just look at it under UV light! Isn't that something?

Application is really nice, as with the other Polish for Tans range. No issues at all there.

I decided not to leave it at that though, and added one of the new Essence sparkly glitters which I bought last week in Wilko's. This is one coat of Glitz and Glam over Shades.

Glitz and Glam is a clear base with pink and silver glitter and lots of tiny iridescent shimmery particles which have a white-green-pink sheen depending on the light.

I think it's really pretty! I'm not so sure it goes so perfectly with Shades as a base colour, but it's still nice enough I think. I bet it would look amazing over a black or a dark purple though!

Ruby Wing - Tide

I recently had a very exciting nail swap with the lovely Ananka. She has not one but TWO nail blogs, and if you don't already follow her, then you should! You can check her out here and here!

Today I have a Ruby Wing colour changing polish to show you - this is Tide.  Ruby Wing polishes are fabulous, and change colour in the sunshine.

I started with two coats of Models Own Coconut Cream, and added a topcoat of Tide. It's a very pale tinted glitter indoors, with a slight peachy pink hint to it. Indoors, it's very subtle and pretty.

At first glance, Tide looks rather like another Ruby Wing polish that I've already posted about previously, Rose. Here they are indoors, Rose on the left, Tide on the right. They both contain the same sort of glitter.  They're not the same - Rose is a very pale pink, Tide is a very pale peach - but they are very alike.

But outdoors, ooooh! Look at the difference! Rose turns a dusky rosy pink. Tide turns a much brighter corally red colour. Gorgeous!

Here it is on my nails - it doesn't show quite the same shade because of the white base.

I bet this would look great over bare nails - subtle and almost invisible indoors (apart from the shimmer) and then brightly coloured outside.

Thank you Ananka for letting me try this! I think it's beautiful!

Magic Colour Changing Nails! Ruby Wing & Ferity

Today is really sunny! I have a friend coming round later and not much time for fancy nail art at all, but I did want to take advantage of the sun and use some of my UV sensitive colour changing polishes!

This is three coats of Ferity Sun Vision Angel Kiss, with Ruby Wing Rose on my ring finger. As you can see, Angel Kiss is a very pale pink, practically nude colour when it's indoors. Rose is a pretty silvery white glitter with a very slightly pink base.

Take them outside however... and there is quite a dramatic change!

Look at this! Angel Kiss turns to a pretty mid-shade of pink, and Rose goes bananas and turns a vivid raspberry pink. I have spend the last hour walking in and out of shade and waving my fingers around sunbeams. The colour change is almost instant, and changes back and forth easily.

I could have cleaned up a bit better! Because I put these on indoors I couldn't spot any areas needing cleanup! Next time, I'll paint outside I think.

Super GLOWY Pink Rose Stamping!

The other day, I somehow bought a small UV torch. I'm not even quite sure why, but OH MY GOODNESS! I've become addicted to walking round the house in the dark, seeing what glows!  Fun things include my teeth, the cat's ears, and of course nail varnish. Less fun things include large parts of my cooker top, strange blotches on my face, and mysterious splashes in the bathroom....   Aaaaaanyway.  Nail varnish.

This design is my second time using my new MoYou London Mother Nature plate 11 (see first post yesterday). In normal light, I think it's a really pretty look!

The pale pink is Barry M Blossom, the brighter pink is Models Own Bubblegum. I stamped on top of Blossom with Bubblegum, and on top of Bubblegum with Konad white.

I really like how this looks - it's sweet and pretty, and this rose design is a lovely one on this plate.  But just wait and see what happens under UV light!  I stuck my hands in the airing cupboard - and hey presto!

The glow is SO bright!  I haven't doctored the photos at all - I used a normal exposure, no extra lighting, no playing with the colour balance, nothing. I can't get over how BRIGHT these are!

It's a bit of a waste of time I suppose, as unless I walk around in the dark and bring my torch, then nobody will see my glowy nails - I don't go to places where they have UV lights these days!

Oh well, I still think it's fun!
