Today I was in Superdrug and saw something that looked DIFFERENT somehow - a whole row of Limited Edition glitters with the shiny green top, but DIFFERENT glitter! I promptly bought one.
The labels on my two glitters are identical. Same barcode, same name (SLE 2012 B).
The only difference in the labels is the number - 251 on the new one, 243 on the first one.
But look! They're clearly different!
My original one has blue, green and fuschia glitter, the new one has red, blue and silver.
Here they are on a nail wheel, and over black - new on left, original on right.
To me, this looks very much like Jewel Britannia, the limited edition that was released in the summer around the Jubilee and the Olympics. At the time, I failed to find this anywhere, and it sold out quickly. Jewel Britannia is numbered 228 though, so who knows??
If it is Jewel Britannia, then yay, because I was disappointed that I never found it. If not, I don't care - it's still really pretty!
Wow you've got a good eye! I would have just assumed it was the same one if I saw it in Superdrug. They are very different on the nail though, I think I prefer the first one, it's bolder and brighter. The new one is still a great find :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not so sure it's a good eye, rather than just being very very sad and obsessed...
DeleteI wonder if they ran out and had to turn around some new bottles quickly and just decided to bottle the Jewel Britannia in the Superdrug Limited Edition bottles? It does look just like Jewel Britannia, I have to say.
ReplyDeleteIt does look like it, doesn't it? I think you may be right - if there were leftovers of Jewel Britannia then the moment to sell it has passed really (Olympics, Jubilee all done with) so perhaps now's as good a time as any. I'm glad I've got both, whatever.
DeleteI picked up both of these too! And mine look like yours but my numbers are different, the pink/blue/green Christmassy one is 243 but the blue/red/silver one is 247! Definitely seems like they ran out of the first and decided to use some 'jubilee' themed polish!!
ReplyDeleteOh how weird! I just googled, and Jewel Britannia was 228, so I don't know what's going on...
DeleteWhatever, they're all pretty!
