Today I wore Barry M Countess to work. It's a beautiful dark brown textured glitter with gold and pinkish flecks. When I got home and was about to take it off, I thought I'd experiment first. I wondered whether it would work to stamp over a textured polish, so I grabbed Barry M Gold Foil and MoYou London rockstar plate 01, and stamped the rose design over the textured glitter, and then added topcoat.
I really like how this came out. The textured polish made the stamping a bit softer than usual, which meant it was really forgiving on the bits I smudged or smooshed a bit!
Countess is a lovely polish with topcoat - there are so many colours of glitter in there! The blurry photo lets you see this a bit better.
I'm pleased with this, so I'm keeping this on for a second day!
Oo!

ReplyDeleteSeeing as you've used Barry M in this lovely little post and I tend to have a lot of Barry M in the collection, I was just wondering is Barry M good to use for stamping? As I have been thinking about starting stamping but wondered if I could use my own nail polish for the stamps! :)
ReplyDeleteWell I'm not hugely experienced with stamping, but I think some polishes work better than others. Barry M Gold and Silver Foil (and the Lilac one) are really good. Some of the others I've tried haven't worked so well, but you definitely don't need to start buying lots of expensive polishes to start. I do have a Konad white and black and they are good though.
DeleteThanks! I was definitely going to get the Black and White by Konad but I thought other colours could be experimented with :)
DeleteYou've become a convert to stamping, haven't you? This looks great.
ReplyDeleteI really have! I didn't think I would, but I think really good plates definitely help. The cheapy poundshop one wasn't worth the money.
DeleteCountess is one of my favourite polishes at the moment! I love it! <£ x
ReplyDeleteIt is really nice, isn't it?
