My colleague and friend, Terri, got married recently. She had been planning to wear stick on nails with a simple French manicure design, but a chance conversation a couple of days beforehand resulted in me agreeing to try painting the Sheffield Wednesday owl (she's a fan!) on a nail just to see what it would be like...
I didn't know how successful (or not!) it would be, as my freehand skills aren't that great. And while it's one thing to paint cats on my nails for myself, it's quite another to do it for someone else for something as important as a wedding! Anyway, I held the false nail down with a blob of bluetack, used a fine paintbrush and Konad black and white polishes, and produced a vague replica of the owl. And this is the result!
I'm really chuffed that something I made was part of someone's wedding!
Thank you to Terri for allowing me to use the photo - and congratulations!
I love this for so many reasons l! YAY your owl and a congratulatory YAY to Terri.
ReplyDeleteYAY all round!
DeleteYou had me all worried there for a minute, that I'd missed something EPIC, but it wasn't your nails. Great freehand.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Yes, don't worry, you haven't missed anything.
DeleteHehe that's cool and very subtle too - ideal for the big day :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteThis was absolutely perfect, the Owl went down a treat with my new husband and I loved wearing the nail on the day. Everyone commented on how good the artwork was and luckily I managed to remove the nail in one piece so I can save it.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for agreeing to do this for me and helping make my day even more special xx
I'm so glad you liked it! :D
