Models Own Mirrorball Collection - Hot Stuff!

I'm back! I had a nice holiday, and I loved Utah, but we weren't very well, and when I got back, my cat had to be put to sleep, so it wasn't the best holiday ever.

The Models Own Mirrorball collection was released last month, and immediately sold out! I had been waiting for pay day,  and so missed it. Now they've got more out, and I found them all in Boots on a 3-for-2 offer, so I bought the lot (plus Snowflake, from the Wonderland collection). There are 5 of the Mirrorballs, and they are all very VERY glittery and sparkly, and come with lovely shiny caps.

This is Hot Stuff, the pink one.  I am wearing it over two coats of Barry M Strawberry Ice Cream. I would say it's one coat of Hot Stuff, but this isn't really the kind of glitter polish that you can apply in coats, this is more one session of dabbing and arranging rather than one coat.

One thing about these polishes - they STINK! Really really badly. They smell rather like very strong gloss paint, and I needed two coats of topcoat to cover up the smell.

Anyway, Hot Stuff is a mix of tiny bright reddy-pink microglitter, some fushia pink hex glitter, larger diamond shaped silver pieces that reflect all sorts of colours, lots of smaller square pieces that I think are silver, although they reflect all sorts of colours again, and some randomly shaped bits (they feel like ripped up sparkle) in a pinky shade.  It's all SO SPARKLY!!

I'm afraid my photos aren't the best this week. There has been NO sunlight, and I've been jet lagged, tired, and missing my kitty and not so much in the mood for nail varnish. I'll try to take better ones of the whole collection tomorrow, if the sun's out again.

  2. Firstly so sorry to hear about your cat. Pets hold a special place in our heart. As someone 'owned' by a cat I know what a gap she will leave when we don't have her any more.

Now to glitter ball. I got Freak Out today. Didn't see a 3 for 2 offer tho at Boots so gutted bout that. Going to try it tomorrow I think over Barry Ms navy.

    1. Thank you! Yes, I've had lots of cats before, but they were always family pets, and my mum was in charge of the difficult decisions. Patty was the first cat that was only MINE, and it was the first time I've had to make the decision myself.

I was thinking of Barry M Navy myself for Freak Out! I'll post how it goes.

  3. Really sorry to hear about your cat. Rest in peace kitty :(

As gorgeous as they are, I'm thinking the smell may but me off a bit too much here, Although they can't be worse than the primark ones I bought!

    1. Thanks! The smell's fine once there's topcoat over it, honest!

  4. Elanor, I just wanted to say I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. I'm a fellow cat lover and it must be a very sad time for you. Sending you lots of good wishes.

Thanks for taking the time to post these pics, I love the sparkles you captured. I've been wondering about the Glitterball Collection but I'm put off because a lot of my Model's Own polishes have been disappointing.

    1. Thanks! The house feels very empty without her. She was so cute.

The Glitterballs do look pretty stunning, honest! I'm quite disappointed with these photos, they look so much better in real life.

I know just how you feel. My kittie-baby was Isis.
I actually have a sort of shrine to cats with her piccie in my house to this day.

    1. Thanks! Yes, I have been choosing some photos to put into frames (although I did already have some of her when she was younger) now.

    1. Thanks. It wasn't pleasant, but I knew it was the right decision and the right time, and she knew I was there.
