OPI Stay the Night - Sand and Glossy

This is another of my OPI liquid sand minis. I've had this a while, but not posted about it before.

I wore this over a black creme - Rimmel Black Out. This is one coat of Black Out and one coat of Stay the Night.

I've posted before that I haven't been won over to these textured polishes - and this does nothing to change my mind I'm afraid. Nice colours. Nice application. But give it five minutes and it dries to this gritty, uneven texture. I don't like how it looks (as though I've got really really bad bedsheet nails) or how it feels (as though I've shoved my newly painted nails in a sandpit). No, sorry, I'm not a fan.

However, I then added topcoat! I used two coats of Seche Vite, but when it was still looking gritty, I then added a generous coat of Sally Hansen Hard as Wraps Acrylic Gel topcoat. Glossy, this polish is stunning!

I mean - look how pretty it is!

This is how I wanted Barry M Ruby Glitter to look (which it didn't, by a long way!)

  1. You make this polish look awesome! Must be the layering over black.

    1. AW thank you! I think the layering definitely helped - it was easy as anything to remove too.
