Ruby Wing - Tide

I recently had a very exciting nail swap with the lovely Ananka. She has not one but TWO nail blogs, and if you don't already follow her, then you should! You can check her out here and here!

Today I have a Ruby Wing colour changing polish to show you - this is Tide.  Ruby Wing polishes are fabulous, and change colour in the sunshine.

I started with two coats of Models Own Coconut Cream, and added a topcoat of Tide. It's a very pale tinted glitter indoors, with a slight peachy pink hint to it. Indoors, it's very subtle and pretty.

At first glance, Tide looks rather like another Ruby Wing polish that I've already posted about previously, Rose. Here they are indoors, Rose on the left, Tide on the right. They both contain the same sort of glitter.  They're not the same - Rose is a very pale pink, Tide is a very pale peach - but they are very alike.

But outdoors, ooooh! Look at the difference! Rose turns a dusky rosy pink. Tide turns a much brighter corally red colour. Gorgeous!

Here it is on my nails - it doesn't show quite the same shade because of the white base.

I bet this would look great over bare nails - subtle and almost invisible indoors (apart from the shimmer) and then brightly coloured outside.

Thank you Ananka for letting me try this! I think it's beautiful!

  1. The colour change effect looks so good especially turning into a bright pink colour. Nail polish swapping sounds like a fab idea! :)
